Margaret (Maggie) Martinez was born in Davis, California to a single mother. She spent the beginning of her life living in Vacaville with her mother and grandparents. She moved to Woodland, California when she was in the second grade, and transferred to an elementary school with a Spanish immersion program. She continued to improve her Spanish all through middle and high school, and remains fluent to this day.

After graduating high school, Maggie spent two years at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, California. After this, she enrolled in Woodland Community College and spent the next three years completing her general education requirements and working towards transferring to a four-year university. During this time, she chose to pursue the English major and worked as an English tutor on campus for two years.

In the spring of 2020, Maggie was accepted into the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she then enrolled as a transfer student. While her career plans have yet to be solidified, she is interested in book editing and creative writing. She is planning to graduate in the spring of 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. After graduation, Maggie is considering entering into the editing/publishing sphere and plans to eventually publish her own works of fiction. Books were a comfort to her when she was younger (and still are), so she hopes that one day she too can publish works that will both comfort and inspire readers.

When she is not occupied with school (which seems to be less and less often, these days), Maggie enjoys reading, writing poetry and short stories, and playing with her dogs. She also is a fan of movies and TV, as she likes exploring storytelling in its many different forms.
